Mark - Austin, TX - part 2
Let’s return to the home of Mark and his grandmother, living in Austin, TX. As you recall, they lived in a house located on an old military base, and in fact, were living in the home that was once owned by the military doctor.
Mark and his grandmother were convinced that there were several spirits living in the home with them, and as you read in part 1, grandmother had actually confronted one large male ghost that was living in their home.
When Mark was about 9 years old, the ghosts living with them became more aggressive. Mark remembers being in his bed at night and something pressing down on his bed. They would push on his bed until he ran to his grandmother’s bedroom in fright. This happened many nights and Mark was beginning to be afraid to go to sleep at night.
Mark also remembers one night specifically when he woke up in the middle of his sleep. There standing at the foot of his bed was a very large man. He was extremely angry and glaring at Mark in a threatening way. Mark hid under his covers trembling in fear for the rest of the night.
A few nights after this Mark once again saw the ghosts in his home. It was about 7:00 in the evening and his grandmother was in the living room watching television. Mark walked into the room and saw that it was filled with people. But he was deeply shaken when he realized he could see through the people. He KNEW they were ghosts! He ran out of the room and locked himself in his bedroom. When his grandmother came into his room to find out what had happened, they began to realize there were many more spirits living in their home than they had imagined.
It was at this time that grandmother began talking with Mark about looking for a new home. They agreed that this might be a good time to start searching.
Approximately one week later, Mark, still 9 years old, woke up with pain in his big toe on his right foot. He wasn’t sure why it was hurting, but the pain was growing stronger every minute.
Finally, he called for his grandmother to come into the room.
She heard him from her bedroom, and immediately went to see what was wrong. As she turned on the light, he explained, “Grandma, my toe is hurting so bad.”
Grandma pulled back the covers and discovered blood on the sheets around his foot. She took a good look at his big toe and discovered there was a huge cut on his toe, and it appeared as if someone had been trying to put stitches in it. She looked more closely, and saw that indeed, there were two stitches in his toe. The cut had been stitched with blue thread. Mark and she both knew that the ghost had cut his foot, and then stitched it up. Mark had not gone to bed with this injury.
Both grandma and Mark were very frightened. The next morning they moved out of this home and never returned to it. Grandma took Mark to his regular doctor and had the blue thread removed, but indeed the cut had been deep enough that the doctor had to put in two stitches. I’m not sure how they explained to the doctor where the blue thread had come from. How do you tell someone the ghost did that?
The home with these ghosts sat empty for a while, but is now a coffee shop. When you ask the staff, they will tell you that they have seen a large male ghost there, and he tries to scare them.
Analysis:
This is a very interesting story, and really quite frightening. We often see behavior from ghosts escalate, and this is a perfect example of that happening. The paranormal behavior began with simple noises like footsteps and thumps in the night. When the humans in the home didn’t worry about them, and essentially ignored them, the ghosts became dissatisfied.
Remember, ghosts want our attention. Most of them are bored and selfish. They like it when we respond to them, especially if they can scare us. The story of Job in the Bible convinces us of this:
Job 4:14 – Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up; It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof; an image was before mine eyes, there was silence…
The second main contact in this home was direct physical contact with the grandmother. Even though she became scared, she did not ask them to leave or in any way try to remove them from her home.
When we accept ghosts into our home, they often invite their friends. And while the first ghost may be harmless, the others that move in are not always quite so amiable. I believe this is what happened here.
Time passed, and more ghosts were moving into the home. One night the young boy, Mark, actually saw a room full of ghosts in his living room. That’s pretty intimidating, and frankly very threatening.
It was only a week later that a ghost actually cut Mark’s toe while he is sleeping. Then the ghost begins to administer care to him while putting in stitches. This ghost is probably imitating the behaviors he has seen in this home back when the military doctor lived there. Also, this ghost has assumed he has a right to touch and care for the human, oh yes, and to hurt him.
It’s possible that the boy was cut by one of the other spirits in the home, and a second ghost tried to administer care. However, these ghosts are not the spirit of the doctor who is trapped there in the home. The spirit of the doctor has passed onto the light and is now in paradise with Christ. This of course presumes that he was a good person. 2 Corinthians tells us that the spirit of every human leaves the body and appears before Christ when the physical body dies:
2 Corinthians 2:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
So we know this ghost was not the spirit of the military doctor.
But ghosts have been here on earth for thousands of years. They have seen what we do and how we do it. These ghosts are truly “playing doctor” in a very dangerous way.
It was a wise decision for grandma and Mark to move out of this home. They were in danger. The behavior of these ghosts had escalated to harm and mutilization. They would not have stopped here.
I also believe those ghosts are still in that building. They will stay as long as they can find humans to entertain them and no one forces them to leave.
